New Release of Dumpster Rentals Cooperative System
In February this year Dumpster Rentals Cooperative Technical Solution Group started to work on a new release of Dumpster Rentals Cooperative System.
We will fix all the known bugs and deliver a few enhancements to improve System performance. Also, we are planning to implement several new features that will enhance System's reporting capabilities.
In addition, we would like to revise and possibly modify the 'Sorting Algorithm' that governs the order in which the System displays companies (Service Providers) for a selected location. Currently the sorting algorithm is based on the bid amount. While sorting the list of the companies, the System displays the highest bidder on the top of the list.
We received several requests from our Senior Members to revise and modify the algorithm for the best interests of our consumers - individuals who rent roll off containers and dumpsters from our members. More specifically, it was suggested to keep considering 'Hard Criteria' such as bid amount while including into the algorithm a so called 'soft criteria'. Applying this Soft Criteria may help to recognize and promote the most reliable, trustworthy companies. This in turn will ensure that our customers keep receiving the highest possible level of professional services in the industry.

This summer I was assigned to work on a very interesting project. I had to research and come up with the several articles for our Dumpster Rentals Cooperative blog. The subject was ‘The best practices in recycling of waste materials’. I searched the web and found tons of interesting materials on recycling and proper disposal of waste. I continued my research in my great local library in Burnaby, BC and that brought even more useful information. At this point I was skeptical, though, assuming that most of the printed stuff must be outdated and therefore mostly irrelevant.
